Padna – Nova vas – Drnica stream valley – Padna

Discover the picturesque Padna with its typical built-up Istrian village, a typical Istrian houses and its rich cultural heritage. We also experience Istriathrough smell and taste; through wine, olive oil, olive products, locally produced vegetables prepared in various ways and dried meat products.

Krkavče – Sv. Peter – Nova vas

Krkavče, built on three bedrocks and look like three villages with a compact village centre. When we stop at one of the farms you will be greeted with the question “White or red?”, when the farmer offers you a glass of wine. On the way, we get to know Refošk and Malvazija and olive oil and homemade meats.

Krkavče –Dragonja river valley – Sv. Peter –
Nova vas

St. Peter extends over the ridge and slopes between the valleys of the Dragonja River and the Drnica stream. During our stops we visit the renovated Tona’s house with its ethnological collection, and the Istrian basins. A hike seasoned with a tasting of Istrian
olive oil, dried meat, home-made bread and wine.

Kocjančiči – Zabavlje – Lopar – Kocjančiči

The central point of the hike is Lopar village on a narrow ridge above the upper part of the valley of the Rokava stream and Pinjevec tributary. We visit the house of Bardinec with an ethnological collection (charred kitchen, wine cellar and yard). “Whoever wants to truly experience and understand these places should not read books about them, but … eat!” We can try oil, wine, herbs, local produce and sea salt.

Vanganel – Čentur – Babiči – Marezige –
Montinjan – Vanganel

Marezige grabs our fascination with a wonderful view of the Koper Bay, while the true experience of Istria lies in the nearby hamlets and neighboring villages. Flysch hills with many waterfalls, canyons, gravel pockets, meanders … which is screaming to be walked. As nature arouses hunger, it is quenched with a snack (cheese and dried meat) and a glass of wine.

Truške

Truške sits in the middle of the Koper hinterland maintaining its original dispersion. The rugged landscape gives shelter to hamlets and villages and allows locals to produce their delicacies – olives and olive oil, wine, meat, fruit and vegetables. The views offer peace and experience of the living heritage of life in Istria.
