Barcola is a popular beach for the people of Trieste, where they spend their free time in the summer, lying down and sunbathing directly by the sea.
In reality this place is very popular all year round: in summer it is the ideal place for swimming, sunbathing or cooling off in the splendid pine forest, while in the winter months it is a destination for long walks especially at sunset which from here is one of the most evocative of the city.

Parking
If you go to the beach by car, you have free parking spaces next to the beach on both sides of the road. However, in the summer months you will have trouble finding a free place. I recommend using bus number 6.
If you use public transport, use bus number 6. In the summer months there is also available a bus line number 36.
