Discovering Istria and the Brijuni National Park by sailboat!

WEEK OF RELAX

IZOLA – BRIJUNI NATIONAL PARK – ROVINJ – POREČ – PIRAN – IZOLA

Itinerary

Embarkation at Izola on Saturday at 6 p.m. Welcome aboard!

After choosing your cabins and arranging your luggage, we will prepare a appetising aperitif, get to know each other, and outline the week’s programme.

On Saturday we will sleep in the Marina in Izola and on Sunday morning we will set sail for Croatia. The following night we will spend it in the roadstead, in a beautiful bay near Rovinj, where we will admire the sunset with an aperitif and enjoy a fish grill under the stars..

Brijuni Islands National Park

On Monday morning, after a hearty breakfast and a swim in the blue waters of Croatia, we will set off for the Brijuni National Park , a unique opportunity to get to know an unspoilt and timeless archipelago. We will stop for 24 hours in the park’s small harbour and, on land, you can rent an electric car or bicycles and have plenty of time to explore the island. Brijuni will amaze you with breathtaking landscapes, exotic animals, deserted beaches, Roman excavations and a real dinosaur park! Brijuni is loved by young and old, offers activities for all tastes and is a must-see destination in Croatian Istria.

Two Sisters and Rovinj

Leaving Brijuni we will ascend and spend a day in the beautiful uninhabited islets of the Two Sisters, you can visit them by kayak, Sup or simply admire them from the boat. At sunset we will fire up the barbecue and prepare you a grill while the sky turns a thousand shades of red. The next morning we will disembark for a visit to splendid Rovinj, one of the most photogenic and romantic towns on the Adriatic.

Poreč

We will spend the evening at the buoy in the bay in front of it. Poreč will enchant you: its colourful and lively old town centre is an open-air museum, the remains of the ancient Roman city can be found in the narrow streets, and the Basilica, with its splendid mosaics, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and art galleries and shops of local craftsmen can be found in every narrow street. A rich food, wine and music scene make it a lively and unmissable town!

Piran

The next morning we will set off towards Slovenia, stopping for lunch in a blue bay where we will admire Novigrad and its impressive medieval walls. In the evening we will arrive in Piran, the most visited town in Slovenia. This small town, which stretches out on a peninsula, is a pearl of the Slovenian coast, every corner will captivate you, getting lost in its winding alleys is a must, as is a stop at Tartini Square, which overlooks the mandrač – a small circular harbour that still houses old boats.

Strunjan and Izola

In 46km of coastline, Slovenia offers blue, protected bays and nature parks. The Strunjan Bay with its cliffs and rich vegetation on the coast is a true paradise, the green wilderness meeting the blue sea is a unique spectacle. After a day of swimming and exploring the coastline, we will return to Izola where disembarkation is scheduled for 5pm on Friday afternoon.

The week will be all about relaxation and entertainment, visits on land will be well balanced with activities at sea and, wind permitting, we will favour sailing.
